Meet Giulia*

*Pronounced: Julia

I've spent my career on both sides of the localization industry — and that's exactly what makes my consulting approach different. I started as a translator & interpreter, working my way through various roles at Italinteriors, CBC, and Telus before joining Shopify in its earlier days.

At Shopify, I grew from translator to Head of Localization, building the function from the ground up and scaling it to support 175+ countries. Along the way, I developed what colleagues call my "superpower" — spotting exceptional talent and building high-performing teams where everyone elevates each other.

In early 2025, I made the move to independent consulting. After nearly a decade leading localization at Shopify, I wanted the freedom to work across different challenges and company stages — from helping LSPs understand what buyers really want, to guiding companies through their first international expansion.

What makes my approach unique is that I've lived on both sides: I've run large-scale localization programs, negotiated with vendors (and cut costs by 25%+), and now I also consult for LSPs who want to understand the client perspective. I know what buyers prioritize, what wins business, and what actually moves the needle.

Whether I'm working with language service providers breaking into North America, companies expanding internationally for the first time, or teams modernizing legacy operations, I focus on strategy and smart execution. I bridge the gaps between product, marketing, legal, and content to make sure international efforts are cohesive, scalable, and actually drive business results.

Originally from Italy, I've spent 25-30 years in Canada and bring fluency in Italian, English, and French to every engagement. I'm a contributor to Nimdzi Insights and have been featured in MultiLingual Magazine.

Going global is complex — I make it actionable.
